Future Kind, a fast-growing vegan vitamins brand on Shopify, had been working with performance agency Pointblank Marketing for four months when a strategic question surfaced:
Are we accurately detecting our highest-intent shoppers?
Browser restrictions and client-side suppression increasingly limit checkout visibility.
If a Checkout Started event is not captured, an Abandoned Checkout flow cannot trigger.
To evaluate signal performance objectively, Pointblank initiated a controlled comparison beginning December 10, 2025.
Six providers were implemented simultaneously:
All providers ran against the same Shopify store, under the same traffic conditions, during the same timeframe.
| Provider | Checkout Sessions Captured | Capture Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Littledata | 1,748 | 95.6% |
| Shopify Native | 1,335 | 73% |
| Aimerce | 748 | 40.9% |
| Triple Whale | 572 | 31.3% |
Triple Whale detected 572 checkout sessions, missing 1,257 during the same period.

Checkout capture directly impacts Abandoned Checkout Revenue because flows can only trigger when Checkout Started events are detected.
During the evaluation period:
The difference in early revenue reflected flow maturation timing rather than signal strength.
Applying Shopify’s observed conversion rate to Littledata’s expanded audience suggests projected potential of approximately $1,500.
Signal capture expands the revenue ceiling. Optimisation operates within that ceiling.
Without detection, the ceiling remains lower.

Shopify recorded 2,750 Product View sessions.
Expanded Product View capture increased reachable Browse Abandonment audiences.

Higher Product View capture translated directly into larger reachable Browse Abandonment audiences.
Littledata delivered the highest Product View detection rate during the evaluation, and that expanded audience produced the highest Browse Abandonment Revenue among all providers tested.
No additional traffic was introduced. The only variable was signal capture.

Add To Cart events were broadly aligned across providers.
Cart events are client-side and comparatively easier to detect.
There was no meaningful differentiation at this stage.
Tracking platforms do not compete at cart.
They compete at checkout.

Because all providers ran simultaneously under identical conditions, the evaluation provided a clear basis for comparison.
Triple Whale captured 31.3% of Checkout Started sessions.
Based on this controlled evaluation, Pointblank recommended migrating away from client-side checkout tracking in favour of server-side signal capture.
The recommendation was data-led.
“The head-to-head evaluation made the difference clear. It wasn’t creative or flow optimisation. It was signal capture at checkout and browse. Once we expanded the reachable audience, the revenue opportunity expanded with it.”
Future Kind did not increase traffic.
They did not redesign flows.
They strengthened signal capture.
In a controlled six-provider Shopify evaluation, Littledata delivered the highest Checkout Sessions Captured and the largest reachable Abandoned Checkout audience.
That is the role of the data layer for Shopify.
